People say in comparision to the cost of an American degree it's quite a bargain to come and study in France.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3057784862632486139.post-24325407024741928762008-06-13T11:36:00.000-04:002008-06-13T11:36:00.000-04:00Thanks for all the sympathy guys! Will have to look into flying through Geneva....

Actually, now that I think about it, PACSing doesn't help me at all because I wouldn't have the right to work for a year. But I definitely don't want to get married. Maybe I should find a rich guy who can support me to PACS with.

Sadly I have a travailleur temporaire CDS, so I think any recruté locale stuff is out of the question. But the secretary did suggest trying the private schools, maybe they would be willing to sponsor a visa.au soleil levanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11064160087622989411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3057784862632486139.post-51213054480889579202008-06-12T16:21:00.000-04:002008-06-12T16:21:00.000-04:00Oh man, that's crappy. And you could always come back as a student.

As for your cds, it all depends on what kind of cds you have. If it's salarié, you might have a chance, if not, you're probably out of luck. Though I don't know how much luck you'll have applying as a recruté local anyways, since they're really at the bottom of the barrel - unless you have connections, they only get chosen after all the incoming assistants and the people who want to renew have been contacted.Ksamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05991667611234163617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3057784862632486139.post-35102578104987687472008-06-12T15:28:00.000-04:002008-06-12T15:28:00.000-04:00Wow! I thought that since I was a secondary assistant, my chances of being renewed were slim. It seems like that's a much more popular post. And that primary assistants were more in demand. Like that British girl on the forums who was asked to change to 9 month primary and has her pick or regions. What's with that??? None of this makes sense.

Good luck, my friend. I want you to be renewed so so much!shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08172118512396063573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3057784862632486139.post-65351567483933732642008-06-12T14:32:00.000-04:002008-06-12T14:32:00.000-04:00Ha, that's true about Geneva. They just cared that I had it in my hands.

Don't give up all hope about renewal though. I was told I wasn't renewed in June/July as well but then I was offered a post in September!Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02700188628709124335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3057784862632486139.post-918754527754365262008-06-12T14:01:00.000-04:002008-06-12T14:01:00.000-04:00I have an idea, if you fly in and out of Geneva on...I have an idea, if you fly in and out of Geneva on the French side, no one checks your passport. My dad lived in Annecy and the closest airport was Geneva, and those f-ers NEVER stamp passports. No matter where you're coming from or going to.

The Swiss don't care, just as long as you're giving them your business, no questions asked. So you know, you could go to Angloinfo.com, find someone who wants a nanny to house you and then fly in an out of Geneva :)

That's not too shady.... right?Monique Geislerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14970594325143598615noreply@blogger.com
