It's here!

First of all, thanks for the lovely comments on my last post. They were much appreciated.

Many new things this week!

1.) I'M OFF STEROIDS. I'll probably still have the sleeping and crazy emotional side effects for another couple of weeks, but then those will be gone and my chipmunk cheeks and water retention will go away within a month. Yay!

2.) Since getting off of steroids, my glucose levels seem to have stabilized and I think I'm pretty much done with insulin and carb counting. Yay!

3.) Day 100 is tomorrow!

So what's the plan for the big day? I will start out at the hospital with a blood draw and probable platelet transfusion. Then I'm going out to lunch with my mom. Then... ? I have several things I want to do. I want to get a big, sugary, fatty coffee from Starbucks, buy some fabric for more headscarves, and go shopping. Maybe get a super sugary frosted donut or a cupcake. And of course enjoy the beautiful weather! It's been in the 60s and sunny almost all week.

P.S. I have added a followers tab to the right. Please make me feel like I have friends by signing up to follow my blog :) I also added a subscription tab. I have no idea if it will be useful to anyone, but if you would like to subscribe using some kind of online reader, it's there for you.

PASTRIES!!

I think you should skip the blood draw though, I mean, it really doesn't fit with the theme for the rest of the day. Who planned this itinerary anyway?

HA! My comment was first. And now second. :)

I am soooo happy for you that it's DAY 100 and that you get to go out... Cupcake, donuts, ice cream... HECK.... don't stop now.... you're on a rolllllll!!!

Thanks ladies!

Yael, I may cut myself with the knife at lunch in my eagerness to partake of dirty restaurant food, and therefore will need the platelets. It's all in the service of a greater good!

Leesa, good reminder on the ice cream! It'll be warm enough tomorrow to have some too.... may have to trade in the Starbucks run for an ice cream run!

YAY!!!!!!

And I'm surprised that going out for ice cream isn't on your list!

Can't wait to hear about your day tomorrow!!

YEAH! I actually said "yeah" aloud reading your post. Er... never mind, I'm sure you didn't hear me.

I hope you will have a great day. Perfect weather, lunch, a Starbucks... what else! You did great. It was hard but you made it. Now have fun, take care of yourself.

We are keeping our finger crossed as usually :-)

Would love to see what you are seeing! Grass is coming up; plants are stretching their legs/arms; people are smiling more and getting more active; the air smells so different in Spring; hope is reborn in the rebirth of spring.

Reminds me of that Bette Midler tune "The Rose", one of my favorites.

Thanks guys! As it turns out, I forgot my camera. Ooops! But I did enjoy some super yummy food, did some shoe shopping, and enjoyed the sun. We don't have any buds or flowers and the grass is pretty brown, but spring should be here soon, I hope!

I think the followers tab might be broken :)

And can you promote my blog on the right- whats wrong with Stickystimuli?????

Also, re: Healthcare. I actually feel pretty good about the current bill. No gov option but expanded coverage for those who need it! Thoughts??

Let me know if you can't fix the followers tab. I'll email all our engineers and explain that they are denying followers to cancer patient, should be ashamed of themselves, and fix it IMMEDIATELY!!

Update: it is fixed. I am now a loyal follower.

Yael, you are the funniest person I know! I saw that there were all these new comments and I was like "wow!" And then I saw they were all just you demanding that I link to your blog, write another post, and fix my followers tab all over less than 10 minutes! I can just see you sitting in front of your computer clicking on the button over and over and over and muttering to yourself "why won't it work!?"

In answer to your question, a new post is forthcoming, it will perhaps deal with my feelings on the healthcare bill, and you fixed the followers button yourself. Happy? :)

Its not my fault you have actual followers and all I have is a bunch of people commenting who want to sell me Viagra. I guess my blog is boring unless you have a permanent erection :)
